Nooooo! Not the round tail light!

Oh, I did it. And after all the carrying on about being a hardcore YJer. You know, no round headlights, no round tail lights, and no round springs.

I broke my right tail light on rocks a few weeks ago and opted for the $7 walmart fix rather than $65 for an original looking tailight.

Anyway, to keep this technical, always use a reciprocating saw, and not a hole saw. (duh)

No build up pics, it would take longer to post pics than to do the job.

When I get over having the round tail light on the right side, I'll do the left side.

This I gotta see, you have to post a pic of the one LED and one regular tail light on your jeep.

I have two OEM taillights in my garage I would have given you for the 7 dollars you spent on walmart.

What about OEM tail lights? I have one that is broken and one that turns off and one when it wants. Tomb Raider, how much for your lights and what do they look like?

Now the reason I quit the hole saw program is because the teeth on the new saw wore down before I finished the hole. I don't know if it was cheap HF, or just made for wood. It didn't say. I oiled it, maybe I wasn't supposed to.

The recip saw did the job, it was just hard to steer in the circle and difficult to see.

Thanks on the used lights offer but my door swing stub broke off too and I figured it was all exposed too much to keep the oem tail lights on.

Also the electrical was corroded. It's amazing what good grounds will do for the lights.

When I did my LED conversion, I did consider getting the rectangular light, just to keep in the theme of square...ultimately, I just got the round ones, for ease of installation and really...who gives a rip?
