no gas when starting

My jeep is not getting any gas when I turn the key. I hear the fuel pump come on and no stalling when running. Once it starts (from me pumping the gas pedal) its fine. I have a T.B.I injection system. What is supposed to be getting the gas going with the turn of the key. Is my injection shot?

When was the last time you changed the fuel filter. The other thing is inside the throttle body behind the butterfly all the grit can turn into this kind of grimmy varnish type crap. If you take the throttle body off and give it a good cleaning with some carb and choke cleaner and soft brissle brush. Be careful, but you'll notice a world of difference after.

thank you I will try that this weekend.
If this is whats wrong wouldn't cause a loss of gas occasionally while driving or at idle?

My valve cover is leaking and my injector is covered with oil, could that be effecting anything?
