NewGuy doing 4.0 Head Swap

image-463583231.jpg Hello Jeep Forum! New guy to the forum, not new to Jeeps. First started this thread another forum with a more model specific name but it seemed that all threads in some form lead to this forum. So I decided to jump ship. A little background on my Jeep. I have had it for 17 years. My dad was the original owner.

I just finished the head swap. Definately worth the time. Good luck and if you have any questions let me know, be glad to try to help.

In 2000 I ran into some issues with emissions due to the 4.2 and all of its carburetor problems. So it I parked in a safe inclosed space. For 13 years!! And it had 12 gallons of gas in it!! That's another story all together. I never non-op'd it which ruined the registration. Any how I moved to Colorado from California and knew that I would need it and Colorado had a registration friendly policy (you don't have to have current registration to register) so I towed it with me.

Love the ole hot rodders, I consider myself a shade tree hot rodder. Lol

Anyway if your using your existing manifold going with a header plan on making some hold down washers. The washers on your current set up aren't big enough.
