For what its worth... you would be amazed at what I found out about mine, just by typing the VIN into Google. And oddball part numbers. Turns out that I had the HO fuel pump and even the dealer couldn't find it on his system!

AMC didn't use build sheets. They just scrounged up whatever parts they could find and bolted them together.

they did tell me two recalls weren't done though. funny that they can tell me that but not what came in the jeep from the factory.

one was a pcv recall and the other a fuel sending unit gasket recall

all i really wanted to know was whether or not my jeep was born here in america or not.

toledo, ohio! good enough for me!

also... i was quite surprised to see that my center console came with my jeep out of the factory! i thought it was aftermarket. hmm....

it also apparently had full hard doors originally as well.

Somehow that doesn't surprise me. My local dealer is useless on my 1991, but I didn't try the corporate yet. Lemme try that and get back. So far, the carfax and the NAPA guy actually know more.

lol it looks nothing like it did when it came out of the factory.

i've got canvas half doors now, bikini top, and a safari top, and CJ style mirrors.

Neither do I...

The additional 200 pounds and the 28 teeth are some major upgrades. Plus I can now walk and use the bathroom.
