New suspension kit

Hello,

I have a Wrangler YJ 1993 with standard suspension.
I have 3" bodylift and 35" tires.

I am working on my jeep (compleet body off restauration) and i think it is time for a compleet new suspension.

I have allmost no idea what parts i need.
I looked on internet and i think this is a nice suspension set:

Rubicon Express 4" Standard Suspension System with Doetsch Shocks
Website: Rubicon Express 4" Standard Suspension System with Doetsch Shocks for 87-95 Jeep® Wrangler YJ - Quadratec

I like a new steering shock absorber too but i don't know what I should buy.

Could anyone please help me by telling me what parts i need to order?

I am completely new to suspension etc...

I'm sorry for my bad English but i'm Dutch

Thanks in advance,
Kenzo

Welcome to Jeep Forum Kenzo, good to have you here. And your English is better than many native-born Americans so no worries about your English grammar.

I am going to transfer your question into the Wrangler YJ technical forum for you. You'll find a lot of Wrangler YJ experts there that will readily help you. Personally, I have a Wrangler TJ so I know next to nothing about YJs.

Hey man, welcome to the wonderful world of owning a YJ! Don't worry about your English, like he said, it's better than a lot of Americans'.
The rubicon express kit is supposed to be really good. It's apparently not the best, but it's like third or fourth. I'm sure someone with way more experiance will chime in.

Thanks for the answers.

I hope somebody could tell me what to buy...

I now can install it because i have an empty chassis now. It will be a lot easier to install it now without the body.

Rubicon Express is really nice, however they are not fun to install as they ussually have fitting problems. I hear great things about BDS as well. if you would consider a 2.5in lift instead Old Man Emu is top of the line

Thanks, I have searched around and BDS is a little too expensive...

I knew Old Man Emu but i like 4" more than 2,5" and it will look great with my 35" tires i hope.

I might order the 4" Rubicon Express suspension but i don't know what optional parts i have to order?

Does it need Slip Yoke Eliminator, Pintman arm and other stuff? (and if it's so, what types of products?)

I think BDS kit may even come out to be a bit cheaper than RE.

It comes with a drop Pitman arm, brake line extensions (though I would suggest longer brake lines), and TC drop kit. SYE would be recommended but adds another 500 or so to your price.

Ok, maybe I was looking for the wrong stuff but i found this:

BDS Suspension Kit 411H Details
Base Price $1,415.39

I don't know if it is complete

Rubicon Express is (i hope complete) around $918

Am I looking for the wrong kit?

I went with the 3.5" suspension and 5/8" boomerang shackles.

I got it for about $800 at a local shop. The price on their website is a bit high. IDK if this will help you in the Netherlands, but I looked up BDS retailers on their website and visited a local one.

it is a little hard for me because i live in Holland. Here we don't have many stores where i can buy this stuff or it will be something like skyjacker or pro comp for about €1500 ($1900)

I don't know what stores sell BDS for +/- $800 and what kit i need

Maybe you have some referes to complete kits suitable for my wrangler?

Rubicon express standard kit isnt that great in overall durability but the 4.5 HEAVY DUTY is way better. As far as a dropped pit man arm i am just using the stock one and its fine. My boyfriend installed it all and i believe he put Sky jacker hydro 7000 steering shock and it works well. The Rubicon Express lift i think comes with everything you need as we didnt have to get anything else.

Yeah, I wouldn't really expect many 4x4 shops in the Netherlands. The only SUVs I saw when I was there last were some pimped out Land Rovers.

The 3.5" kit lists for about $1000 US (about €800), though I don't know what they'd charge you for shipping.

thanks, than i prefer the BDS suspension.

Maybe you got a link to a site where I can order it and ask for the shipping cost?
A link to a site where this set is around $1000?

Or what is the exact name of the set (I searched on internet but didn't find an exact match)

Thanks a lot!

Thanks again for the answer.

I think i like this BDS suspension set (Kit 409H). I saw great things about BDS on the internet.
If this is better than the rubicon express kit i think i will order this bds set.

This is a complete set? And is it good to order on the BDS site or an other site? (warranty, cost, delivery, shipping etc...?)

Thanks
Kenzo
