It looks like electrical conduit or half inch EMT. I'm think about building a rack out of 3/4" EMT. Has anyone tried this??

that is 3/4. and the mesurments are 53 inches long by 27 wide. and 5 1/4 tall. the top rail that goes around the rack is an inch shorter. so its only 26 across. and the ubolt to hold it to the roll bar are the ones that i had left over off the jeep after i lifted it.

it taked 4 sticks of 3/4 galvanized emt tubing. they are 2 bucks a sick. so in matirials it costs 8 bucks.

ya my next project that im going to build is a roof rack. but i would think that 3/4 woudl hold up fine on a roof rack. I would think that it would all depend on how you mounted it to the jeep that would depend on the strenth of it. but once i get the roof rack built i will post some pics of it too. the welder is just a normal wire feed welder. oxi setalin works fine too.
