Yea, lots of guys here have done it. I think its rediculus to drop the tranny to replace the slave. I bought the conversion stuff from daveys jeep ~$120. When I do it, I'll take lots of pics

Sweet. I looked at modifing mine, but I'd rather have the waterproof seal of the correct ones. Thanks for the info

If they salt the roads in your area you might think twice about the MT wheels since they aren't coated. Check out the maintenance document from their web site:

Update

I got the Tj flares done. I also scored some full hard doors for $150.

Next, time to swap for the external slave.
New (to me) bellhousing and fork:

Taking the tranny off was fun. I had to cut my exhaust. I made a mess with the tranny fluid too. It was fun

All this because somebody somewhere thought these were a great idea:

Anybody that does this conversion needs to know that this clip is very important, It holds the fork pivot to the bell housing:

I've been busy so I havent got alot done in the past couple of months. I'm back on it now that warmer weather is here.

Next I'm getting the drive train back together, Durabak-ing the tub, and get this....
I bought a TJ roll cage with door surrounds. Yup, gonna run a TJ soft top durring the summer. Also gettin rid of the
Cavi seats (they suck) and I got some TJ seats. I'm gonna go with a 4" RC and 33's or 35's MT's.

Stay tuned

He got a good deal on a CJ5. That YJ had way too much cancer, it was a real death trap.

something oldschool i learn u can put some vinegar in to the spark plugs holes and let it there for 2 or 3 days this will loose any piston ring that may be rusted or stuck to the walls or the cilinder then turn the engine with the spark plugs off so that the vinegar cango out thru the holes for the spar plugs and your exhaust valves that way you dont run the chanses of braking your rings good luck with your yj
