New hard top lexan rear hatch and suggestions?

I bought this jeep with a Steel Horse 2 piece hard top. The back window and frame is missing but I have the hinges and a plexiglass/lexan window bouncing around.

I really dont care that its lexan and until I can find a replacement rear hatch I was thinking I would get some gas shocks and mount them and put a lock in it on bottom.

Has anyone attempted this? Do you have any pictures of a locking rear lexan without a frame? Its not really to keep people out as its to keep out the rattling and wind noise. Also it seems as though some exhaust is coming in through the back there. I want it to close tightly.

I was thinking I could get 2 of the locks one on each side to fasten it down. Im not so sure about mounting the gas shocks yet. Maybe all this is going to be more trouble than its worth. Any suggestions or ideas would be fantastic.
