Garage
Did you time it after you put the distributor in?

It will not run right until properly timed.

Tell us how your engine is set up.

Carb?
Initial timing?
Vac source for vac advance?
Vac reading at idle?
Plug gap?
Nutter?
Centrifugal advance limiter plate set to 5, 7, 13 or 18 degrees?

Just to confirm simple things, you have the plug wires done correct? Sounds like you have everything right but you could have a few wires swapped?

First thing to check, a very easy mistake to make,

Also, very easy to crack a plug or get bad plugs new out of the box.

Also, these engines will run 180 out. Make sure you are TDC on #1 compression stroke
