Never thought id have to ask But...

its getting to be about that time for me to get the motor and trans back in the jeep

If you have followed my build you know that i had to patch the frame where the skid plate mounts, i did not put and holes or nuts in because i refuse to reuse the stock skid and want to make my own trans X-member and then do a flat skid

Ok question one .... when i go to start the x-member do i want the drive line eg.. motor and trans to be as level as i can get it or is it safe to have it on a angle ?

Question two.... id like to have a FLAT Skid or is the t-case going to hang below the frame ?

Question Three ..... Id like to keep the pinion angle as low as i can what would you all do to get this combo of questions done

Sorry for the long post but i just want to make sure i do this right the first time

Thanks Guy's

The motor mount lift or trans drop don't do much to the shifting action but I had some minor annoying problems. The flat belly is all depending on what you wanna do with the jeep. Make a plan and stick with it. Accommodating it afterwards is just lost time, money and parts. But gained experience.

I am sure you have seen my build.....the motor and tranny dont have to be completely level, hence the crossmemeber drop kits to lower the TC to help correct drivelines. The down side to this is that your motor mounts will wear out quicker.

Time and budget build...lots of pics:::: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/9...bench-1499127/

Ok thanks

so then the plan is for me to keep the x-case up above the frame so i guess that would put the motor close to level

next i should add that i do have the 8.8 and sye BUT for right now just to get it up and running i am going to still use the stock d/s and d35
so to use them shim shim shim ??

I did a belly tuck. i have a 1" body lift and 1" motor mount lift.

the transmission is about 2" about the plate using the stock mount.

Looking at it through the frame there is a slight drop towards the rear still.
