Neutral Safety Switch?

Is there a neutral safety switch on an AX-5 transmission? If there is, where would I find it?

I'm not sure if I'm talking about what you are, but I can start the tranny in any gear, and can start in neutral with my foot off the clutch. The only electronics I can think of that are on my AX5 is the reverse sensor.

Thanks for the replys. The reason I am asking this is because I just replaced the tranny in my 90 YJ with a tranny from a 98. They are identical except that the old tranny has a switch that is located to the rear of the fill hole and the newer tranny does not. I was wondering what this switch was for? The back up light switch is in the same location on both, in front of the oil fill hole.

Not sure, but my 90 YJ, 4.2L with AX15 will turn over in any gear as well, no matter if the clutch is in or not lol. Likely not great for the starter, but it will pull you forwards.

98 tranny is from a TJ? If it is then yes it probably does have a neutral saftey switch. I think they started with the TJs.
