I was just gonna ask for some information regarding the installation of an NV4500 into my 95 Yj. I heard that you are required to purchase a body lift to be able to install the transmission into the jeep or else it will just not fit. Is this true? (Any additional information about the NV4500, tips, tricks, or constructive criticism will be gladly accepted :smile2: )
I have an NV4500 in my 93 YJ. Got an adapter kit from Advance Adapters. No body lift, but you will have to do a little cutting in the floor to relocate a shifter because the larger tranny will push your tc towards the rear. you will also need a SYE to help accommodate the shorter driveline distance.
Really? I was expecting a lot more work and creativity! Not that more work bothers me anyways :grin2: So what you are saying is that all I would need to do is #1) Get a SYE, #2) Cut out a larger hole in the floor so I can fit the tranny, and #3) Get an adapter kit for 4bt to NV4500?
My NV4500 is behind a small block. I have a tummy tuck and running a 1" BL prior to getting it. The only trimming I had to do to the tub (besides the holes for the shifters) was for the clocked NP241 transfer case. No clearance issues with the transmission.
