Cheap mods and Jeep do not belong in the same sentence.
You can start by removing your track bars. Install quick disconnects on the front sway bar, not expensive. Those mods witll give you more flex on the trail. Go through every nut and bolt on the rig to make sure they are tight, not ready to bust off from rust, check bushings, change fluids, etc... Those are easy and important mods.

- LED Tail lights, not too expensive to get, not too hard to install.
- Not really a mod, but something to do. Get new seatbelts (if yours are worn/frayed) - If you've got any chrome stuff, if it's fake chrome you can sand it off and spraypaint it. My headlight bezels were chrome so I sanded those and painted them white like the rest of my YJ. - I needed a place to store my emergency triangle, so I bent some aluminum flat bar and bolted that to the tub on the passenger side next to the door to sort of keep the triangle flat against the body. - Ammo can center consoles are always neat - Buy a hi-lift and mount it somewhere - Put a quick-drain oil plug in your oil-pan. Autozone has em for like $10. - If you've got a stock Dana 35, you can replace the rubber stopper with a metal one that has the magnet in it. Which would also give you a reason to clean out your pumpkin and give it new fluid. - Get a reusable air filter to replace the paper one - If you've got issues with where/how your exhaust is run you can go to a junk yard and take the exhaust tube past the muffler off (as in cut) an old XJ and re-route yours. - replace your stock brake lines with better ones from quadratec - buy a tuffy glove compartment replacement box. - install anti-theft door nuts I think that should keep you busy, it sure kept be busy for the last few months. |
