Need a quick Jeep measurement...

I'm stuck at work, and don't have access to my Jeep. I need to order a 1/2" drive 1 5/16" impact socket to remove the nut holding on the Pitman arm, but I am not sure if a shallow well will be deep enough.

Anyone who is close to their Jeep, please measure the depth from the end of the steering box stud to the top of the nut below the Pitman arm. I've found a Proto impact socket that has an internal depth of 1.5", but I am not sure if it will work. Thanks!

1/4 inch exactly. Shallow should do. This is on a 92 power steering.

Remember, the nut is thin. A socket with 3/4" depth will work if your setup is stock.

I not too worried about the thickness of the nut, but more concerned with the amount of threaded stud that extends below the nut.

A shallow should work. Just for practical reasons though, why not just get the deepwell. It will work on a shallow but if you ever need it the deepwell will work for you in both cases.
