need help on locker....

i have a 88 yj with a open dana 35..i read about removing the pinion shaft im pretty sure its called that its between the spider gears..well i read that there is suposto be a bolt there i guess my car didnt get the memmo and there is no bolt at all not even a hole for one...how do i go about removing it now i dont want to just bash it out any help

i also check my haynes service manual that didnt help at all

there looked like there was suposto be something like that on the side of the carrier but there was nothing there.. i kinda looked like there was suposto be a screw but it wasnt there

like is there anyone who did this that doesnt have that 12 1/4" bolt that could help me out like a write up

thats how mine was did you try a punch it took me a long time to figure it out but it will just push out with a punch

do i need to pull the axle out to put the lock right locker on..i mean like do i need to get a slide hammer to move the axle out a little bit

yes you need to pull the axles out a little to get the carrier out at least thats what i did I am not sure if you have to or not but its not that hard of a job its just very intimidating I would help you if you wern't too far away

thanks alot i just wanted to make sure i no how to install everything i just want to make sure im doing it right..i didnt do it at my house i did it a my buddies shop and i didnt no how to remove the pinion shaft since i didnt see that 12 pioint bolt i read about in like 10 different forums and didnt no what to do..so i decided just it was a good way to change the differential fluid and do it another day..but if u have anyother ideas or tips let me no
