i started my 2.5 to 4.0 swap. called the dealership to get the motor mount brackets and i was told that they are no longer produced and that there is only a right side mount availble. anyone know where else i can get them or what they are refered to so i can find them. :brickwall
Last I knew, these are still BOTH available from the dealer. I suspect the dealer was confused when you inquired about them. The brackets that bolt to the motor, only the right side is still available like they told you. I believe they may have confused the block mount brackets with the frame weld on mounts/perches.
you could very easily make some out of a 1 foot piece of 2x2 heavy wall box tubing, cut a 45* angle on the motor side and cut the bottom out so they are 'U' shaped, I you need, I'll go measure the length from tip to frame for ya.
i will call my local dealer tomorrow and find out. also i would like to know the length cause i had originally thought about fabing up my own but changed plans after reading a couple threads
The dealer no longer carries them, believe me after numerous calls of frustration. I called brown dog jeep and they directed me to AMC 4x4 in phoenix. They located them and removed from a crapy frame. They were only 70 bucks, had to clean them up at the welders shop but basically saved my jeep.
After 4 years of calling around, I can understand his frustration.
