In need of direction. New build.

Hey yous guys!!! lol

I'm gathering parts, thoughts, and prices to do my build.
I know there is a certain 'process' as to do what first, but I don't know what it is. Can I please get some direction. I am a noob but have the determination and funds to do so(keeping it somewhat bluecollar). I don't have access to a shop with a lift or special tools. Body work or paint will be contracted. Does anyone want to help a dream come true. Just direction to start. Thats all im asking.

Edit: I have an 88 YJ that I want to be able to conquer almost anything thrown at her. I'm looking to go with the Cummins 4bt. Dana60s. Probably 7" lift sitting on 37s.

first off...
what the heck are you building?
if it's the TJ in your profile you aren't going to get a lot of great advice here in the YJ section.
pictures and some idea of your end goal would be nice to know before you can be given any advice.

Build it for use. What are you gonna use it for?

Ask yourself 3 questions, build around the answers...

1. What will you be using it for/What do you want to be able to acomplish on the trail? (meaning, are you wanting something that will crawl the side of a cliff? Go through 6' of water? Mall crawl?)

2. What size tires are you wanting/needing based on your offroad expectations? (based on the performance you expect... build around the tire size...)

3. What is your budget?

Start with asking yourself what you want it to accomplish, then what tires you want/need, then what budget you have to fit said tires, gain said suspension articulation and clearance.
