Need A/C Help...I'm melting

This is my first post, so thank you for reading this. I have a 1992 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. I love it, but the ac isn't working. I've had it checked by two separate places. Both say that there is a leak that they can't find. One suggested removing the dash. I came very close to removing it myself, but the bolts that connect the bars to the top of the windshield don't want to move. Is removing the dash the only way to access that part of the ac? It has been over 100 degrees here for almost 2 weeks. I'd really like to find the stupid leak. Any advice besides telling me to take the top down would be appreciated.

Tha a/c unit has 4 screws that hold it to the underside of the dash. Drop it down and and pull out slightly to get the blower motor off of the bracket in the back.

You say chrome won't get you home, I say my Jeep will.

You dont need to remove the dash to pull the a/ c componets. They are all housed in the lower a/c system. It should just unbolt from the bottom of the dash.

Thank you for your help. I'm a girl and not a mechanic, but I don't understand why they can't locate a giant leak. That's why I believed them when they said that the dash needed to be removed. I envisioned some mysterious hidden area where all of the freon went to die. I'm having trouble navagating these forums on my iPhone. Is there a section that has diagrams? I'd like to get a visual of what I'm looking for when I pull the ac components.

Once the system is full they should be able to find the leak with a sniffer. Pulling the dash gains them no additional access. Go some where they are not trying to rip you off.

have dye injected in the system, use a black light and special glasses.... you will find the leak. or as stated above a sniffer will narrow down the area
