I have driven my jeep without doors. But you need to have mirrors. You can get mirrors that fit into your door hinges.

To the best of my knowledge there are no laws against doors or windows in NC. You might have to have mirrors but doors are not necessary. Most cops don't even know the laws on that anyway, and if they do, you have really got to piss them off to get a ticket. So many people drive around in Charlotte where I'm from and have never heard of anyone getting a ticket for it. I wouldn't let the fear of getting a ticket (chances of which is tiny) keep you from going topless or doorless.

To the best of my knowledge no side mirrors are required. Doors definately not required. Rear view mirror is law. I'll double check the law book when i go to work tomorrow

Im in Wilmington....no doors, have some useless mirrors mounted for show, no fenders-flairs or guards. Never had a problem...yet.

^They tell me the same thing^. My uncle is a sheriff down south and he says as long as I'm not speeding or doing anything else stupid, then I'll be fine. Once they get you pulled over for something though, you're SOL man.

To pass an inspection you have to have a rear view mirror and the divers side mirror, the passenger side one isn't needed.

I made a side mirror in about 10 min. using some steel from Low's, a replacement mirror from Advance Auto Parts, and a nut/bolt. Cost about $10.

It mounts on the hinge.

Agreed on that ^^^^ lol. I'm in Wilmington for school and the cops aren't the best. Anyways back to the point.........if a cop does do something about it, it is only a minor traffic violation and can be reduced to malfunctioning equipment. My gf's dad is a sheriff in Union County and said its no big deal anywhere in NC
