I just got a jeep with an 8.8 and no sye.It has a slight vibe but its not bad,I'm gonna put an sye in thought. Because the pumpkin is off center and it may beat up on the u joints...

Plus you will have to change the angle of the spring perches when you change it from a stock drive shaft to a CV shaft. Nothing like doing the work twice. Also i would be concerned on how long the u-joint would hold up with the stock DS.

I would just hate to see you try it and then not have it work and have to go run out and get an sye and xj shaft.

The previous poster has done it. It says he is running a 4" spring and 1" shackle. But every jeep is different when it comes to vibes. Two jeeps can put on the same lift kit and one will have vibs and the other won't. So what works for one jeep wont necessarily work for another.

YJnot how long have you been running it like this? I suppose you are running at least a t-case drop. Are you also running a motor mount lift?

I did a chassis swap on my 93 YJ. I sandblasted and then Por15 the frame and it turned out great. That stuff is pretty solid. I recommend anything that was rusting or is rusty should be painted over with the stuff. Keep up the good work.

how many coats of por-15 did you use.
reason being i used it on sandblasted metal and it let some rust through?

dont forget to paint over the por 15... stuff is great but uv rays will kill it

I do have a tc drop....II would do a sye and cv ds its the wright way to do it..

broke another peice of **** torx...... and stripped the torx head on the bolt
found some spring hangers ruff stuff

Ok starting the flame on getting work done on the jeep because its nice out now.

Still a good amount of tread left on them.

Right now im pealing the stickers off the side off the jeep and it is a PITA. Getting the jeep preped for paint and getting some metal work done. And makeing some homemade rocker guards so if any one has any ideas plz do so and tell me. Wondering if i should get these to cover up the uglyness in the rear http://www.genright.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=CNR2001 They are the TJ ones and i think they would be perfect for the tj filler door and perfect timing to do it. Still havent decided on a color

just so you know a heat gun or hair dryer and a razor blade works wonders on getting stickers and the like off.

well for some updates im going to use this drawing to cut my booms out at school
Its not mine but it was very usefull in drawing them up

I started to get some ideas for tub fenders i really like these ones “Renegade" style Front Tube Fenders by PUREJEEP. they extend out i like the cleaner look

So i got out the cardboard and tape. im made mine a little different because i want to run my rockers full lenght all the way to the fender, not stopping at the end of the tub.

Its not the finished product but you get the idea. What do you guys and girls think
