Name that bolt!

I'm looking for the bolt size that holds on the tailpipe bracket. They dealership didn't have a clue and told me to come in to make sure it was the right bracket. Well it was and they still didn't know. I haven't found anything on the forums about this either. If no one can tell me, I will just use a bigger self tapping screw. Thanks in advance!

Mine is a 5/16-18x0.75" "dog point" or "lead point" style

The nut for that stud is also a 5/16-18

I was under the impression that it just threaded into the frame. Am I wrong or are we talking about different things? I am trying to find the size bolt that holds the bracket(original pic) to the frame. Thanks

Dred is saying that the bolt thread is the same as the stud at the bottom of the bracket. The bolts for the frame should be a 5/16-18x .75, 5/16 diameter, 18 thread pitch, and 3/4 of an inch long. They do not "have" to be a dog point( small length at the end without thread), that is just what was there from the factory.

Correct.

just in case, you can match the bolt to that stud for a reference

You already have the bracket or are you ordering one?

I already have the bracket. I got the outer piece and insulator online but couldn't find the last piece(don't know what it is called but it sandwhichs the insulator between it and the picture part). I ended up just making the last piece myself. Painted everything and it all fit well. I got rid of a universal kit which didn't work well.

I think we all have one of those piles
What are you replacing it with?

Nothing,

Here's how it's sitting now....

It's going to have about 8" of stretch in the back so the stock pipe and hanger are gonna be useless. I'm just gonna run a turn down after the muffler.

I was wondering how your project has been progressing. You need a build thread Tim...

Yeah, I keep saying the same thing. But I keep forgetting to get pictures along the way. I'm feeling rushed, because we're going back to Moab second week in April.

Yeah I saw your thread. I'd go twice if I could afford it. RockWoRm is going in May too, he couldn't get the time off or something to make our April trip.
