My yj doesn't shift to second gear..Help!

Hi,
i have a problem with gear shifting! my jeep yj 1994 4.0L 5 speed auto transmission.
at morning all gears fine, after a while driving (10 min.) the second gear disappeared!!
it will jump from first to third gear, and when i pull gear handle to position 2, still shifting from 1 to 3
also no passing gear when hit gas to the floor!
note: i changed the TPS
also try to adjust the TV cable i feel there is some changes in shifting but no second gear!
any idea Please?

First, no YJ was offered with a 5 speed auto, only a 3 speed. Second, those 'extra' gears you feel it shifting into is when the lockup torque converter locks. It will not lock until you have driven enough to get the trans to temp, your 10 minutes. Sounds like it is locking after going into 2nd and then staying locked going into 3rd. May not be unlocking when it downshifts, thus not causing a big jump in RPM.

thanks Fourtrail, when i bought my car the Ex. owner has already changed the engine and transmission with new models
so the jump from 1-3 speed make the car so hard to drive, after that the next speeds comes sequentially if my gear handle on D position(rest gears when on highway),
but if on 2 position at early morning 1-2-3 very normally after about 10 min. becomes 1-3
