I am using the existing duct work and windshield frame for my defroster. I started a write up here if you want to take a look. I am cutting holes in the top and bottom of the botton potrion of the windshield frame. I fabricated some duct work on my new CJ dash that will butt up against the existing duct work and send it through the windshield frame. I moved the existing duct work to the backside of the frame. It allows for about 1/4 inch more space to work with.

The shelf on the backside of the dash is to hold the new ECU for the fuel injection. It will be painted to match the body of the jeep as seen in my avatar on the left there, so it shows through the dash. The dash will be painted black.

Oh and the girlfriend named the jeep, dont make fun of me.

Named after Parzival, Lord of the Rings, or the Robert Jordan books?

Do you think I can throw some sort of clear coat on top the rubber? I want the texture, but the rubber coat can also get a little dirty or take scratches easier.

That looks killer. One of the most detailed dashes I have done with all the celtic crosses. Good job on the build man.

That looks sick, on the clear I don't think you would have a problem using it over that I did just that for the grab bar on my cj dash and its been fine for 2 years.

You could always put some green leds infront of the speakers so it illuminates the speaker grill.
