nice find, the ring is for a speed sensor for the ford speedo, if its like my motor home. my tranny wouldnt shift right when it got dirty. ther should be a pickup on the front of the housing.
and some ls have clutch pacs under the side gears. they look like an open diff at first glance.

Also is this part important?? It broke off but I still have the little piece. Do the calipers bolt up here? It would be facing the front of the jeep if the axle was set in, so rotate the axle 90* forward from those pics.

Not sure on that broken piece.
I just picked up a set of stock 4.10s and the rear is nasty. What are you using to clean up the axle?

That is the flange that holds your e-brake cables...its pretty important. I would keep it and see if it can be welded back on.
Here's a couple pics of what it looks like with the ebrake cables hooked up...

The ebrake shoes are a pain in the arse! Best I can tell you, is take a couple minutes to study how the assembly works, then disconnect the springs, remove old shoes, and try to install the new ones. Theres 1 thin spring that is really easy to hook up, and a thicker one that is a PITA to stretch out and hook to the pad. Took me about 10 tries to finally get it. Just gotta have patience.
To hook up the stock ebrake cables, I followed Jedi's write up.

Dam u pull and pay has some of the greatest prices i've ever seen at junk yards. 12$ a piece for calipers, that's a hell of a lot better then 50$ a caliper with a 40$ core charge haha. Going down tomorrow to get them.
Sebastian22 How did you clean up the calipers before you painted them and did you need some special paint? Did you just use a drill and wire wheel?

Yep, just wire wheeled them, then cleaned them with lots of brake cleaner. I used regular Rustoleum, but some people use special caliper paint, or high temp / BBQ paint. I threaded the banjo bolt in and makes it off really well to make sure no paint got in there. Also masked off the rubber boots. Check the pics in my 8.8 swap thread in my sig.
PS, just call me Sebastian.

A little late dragon
Yea Sebastian I saw your pics. Unfortunatly i'm not 18 so I have to wait until tomorrow to buy the paint, red rustoleum for the calipers and black for the axle. How did you get in the smaller more cramped spots? My drill both cordless and corded spin so dam slow, the only thing that really works is the angle grinder with wire wheel. What did you spray brake cleaner on? The calipers or the axle?

I used my cordless drill with a wire wheel attachment. I didnt really get into all the tight spots. After cleaning the calipers up with the wire wheel, I cleaned them with brake cleaner. I also used brake cleaner on the axle when I was done stripping all the paint and rust off.
