There isn't much difference in that stock picture, and some 1 year old RC lifts I have seen.

Don't know how to help at this point. I saw the guy get great advice and just hand wave it away with some attitude.

What brand of lift did you buy? Springs? Shocks? Shackles?
And again, you can make those 33s work with pretty much no lift if you break out the sawzall. You'll want to trim up the rear either way. Your tires and tub will thank you later when they are not chewed up or creased in.
