My new Lift

Well I got the 2.5" Skyjacker in the other day and I am going to start working on it tonight. My only problem is that this is not something I have done before and don't really trust my friends to help me. So, is there any good writeups on 2.5" lifts for yjs that I could go by, or am I just on my own?

Well .. as far as not trusting your friends, I would say you are alone .. very alone, in a dark room, all by yourself .. sorry .. Helloween is catchin' up to me

Tools required:
- grinder with grinding and cutting disks
- wrenches
- prybars
- muscle
- hammer
- two cases of
- a weekend
- pizza
- WD-40
- Lithium grease
- Pipe wrench

Read, and re-read the instructions .. follow them as close as possible. Make sure that you verify front and rear spring packs .. one set of packs should have 1 more leaf than the other. The set with the extra leaf, if I remember right, belongs on the front (verify with your instructions).

Then comes the easy stuff .. pull your drive shafts, jack your Jeep up and put on jack-stands. Remove wheels. Use cutting disks to cut U-bolts off. Cut track-bar off (or un-bolt, your choice). Cut spring bolts off, remove shackle bolts. Leave axle resting as low as possible and swing the old springs out.

Bolt spring to frame, swing spring upto shackle and bolt it into place as well. Center axle over spring and use U-bolts to reattach it.

When finished with rear end, then move to the front.

Remove swaybar links. Remove trackbar. Un-bolt shackle mounts. Cut off spring bolts. Cut off U-bolts. Pull spring out of the way and replace with front. Installation is reverse of removal.

Use Pipewrench to re-align your steering .. and enjoy!
