My Jeep went rock crawling without me.
This morning my wife decided to warm up my 95 YJ before I went to work. Well she reached in and turned the key, it started, then drove onto the lawn and then crawled up my front steps and then stalled after smashing into my porch swing. My wife was not in the Jeep and she was unhurt.
I told her next time she wants to warm it up, that she doesn't have to bring it into the house.
I've had this Jeep (my first) since July. Do all Jeeps start without having to push in the clutch, or is it until a certain year?
I wish I would have taken picturs but I wanted to get it off the porch before my neighbors started noticing.

Don't think any YJ comes with a saftey switch or requires the clutch to be pushed in to start it.

When all of the fluid for the clutch leaks out and you have to limp home, being able to start it in gear is a good thing. Don't ask me how I know

as crappy as our parking breaks are i figured we all parked them in gear and knew to put them in neutral when starting..... sounds like you need to let your wife drive the yj more often

Safety switch in a YJ Name me one thing that a YJ has to makes the unaware general public safer? No air bags, rock hard suspension, poor parking break, no family cage until 92, wind shield wippers that travel half as much as normal wipers, hell my jeep doesn't even have one of those buzzers for when you start or leave your lights on.

Yeah no light buzzer. It does have a seatbelt buzzer though. That would be one thing so I guess I'm done
Seriously though, if someone was looking for comfort and safety and they bought a YJ then they have some serious brain damage.

There are a few other reasons it's a good thing. I have discovered many of them over the years. The starter motors are pretty darn powerful for a while.

I can't believe it kept going that far... what is your idle set at? Mine just stalls out if it doesn't have any gas in first gear.
