My jeep build, 5.0L SOA ect..

So i figure ide share some of my progress so far...which is really slow due to the fact that i work 10 hour nigh shifts and get about 1 day to work on the truck a week. Gotta pay for it somehow!

Plan is 5.0L > T-18 > NP205 > ford 8.8 and D44 each locked with 4.88's and cromoly shafts, high steer Chevy disc break conversion for front ect.. to 38.5 TSL SX's.

My garage consists of some dirt and maybe a small alder for shade. Anyways, enough talk here are some pics in relative order up till now.

Bowenjeep, you have a pretty sound plan for your project. I was/am looking at a SM465/350 swap with my J20 axles (front D44 and rear D60) SOA of course. Are you planning on making this a trail only rig or will it see the paved road too?

Keep up the good work and I will be watching your progress.

Todd

Thanks, im defiantly going to be driving it on the road as well. Not as a daily driver, but you gotta show it off a little too :P. I got a 83 Landcruiser BJ60 with a 4 banger diesel to DD and will be going spring over with that once the jeep is done.

Well, i didnt get much done on the truck last this weekend. I did take a dip and spent money on the tires/wheels and some break lines though. I also took a little bit of a look at the wiring mess and tried to figure out how i was going to do this. Looks like it should go together fairly easy..i hope. Im still waiting for my conversion motor mounts to arrive from advance adapters before i drop it in.

The thing that sucks about living on an island is that if i need a small part or bolt for something, i need to spend half a day to go get it from a parts store in town..plus the cost for ferry/gas.

Is it your own private island?

Ferry costs suck. When I use to travel all over the US doing service work I had to take a few ferries and it does suck!!!

You got your tires, what did you end up getting?

Todd

Its not a private island, about 3000 ppl live here. But i like it enough to catch the ferry all the time.

I ended up getting 38.5/14.50/15 TSL SX's
