My hand throttle install

I bought the Rubicon Express hand throttle kit from Quadratech
This is a very simple install, it only took less then an hour

To make the clamp fit tight I used two pieces of air line doubled on top of each other with slits down the side so they can be put over the stick shift.
Then I covered the hose in electrical tape
I then drilled a hole in the fire wall to feed the cable through trying to make it match the route of the pedal throttle cable

I bent the angle bracket that came with the kit to make it flat then bolted the cable tensioner to the spring frame bracket. Ranr the cable through the tensioner, looped it around the throttle and crimped the cable loop tight.
I still have to snip off the extra cable. I didnt want to have it wrong and end up short if I had to change the routing of the cable

I went for a test drive and it works perfect, no binding or interfereance with the gas pedal.
Now I can set the idle when using my OBA.
I highly recommend this easy , cool mod

Anyone with a stick needs a hand throttle. Getting up a incline when you need to clutch and brake at the same time is a bear without a hand throttle.

Great mod, just the way I like them, useful and cheap. I used a Bicycle break lever for the control. It has a built in cable adjuster and a longer control, for finer adjustments.

Yesterday leaving work it was 25 degrees. I didnt let the jeep warm up and drove down the road. The throttle wanted to stay open at arount 3000rpm once I got going until it warmed up a bit.
This didnt happen before the hand throttle. That morning i let the jeep warm up and there wasent a problem. Is this from the choke or idle sensor with extra tension from the hand throttle?
