I went from this

Don't have a finished pic of the drivers side, but you get the idea

My old seats, green and tan. I need to sell these and get some black ones...
Another shot of the paint.
Ill post some more pics in afew days.
Thanks for looking.

Good luck man, that looks like a lot of work. A bunch of guys on here I had my doubts about in the begining and they turned out great (see The Boxmans thread)
Not to be a total buzzkill and all but painting the rollbar and hood latch would be the least of my worries at this point.
I think you're heading in the right direction now going with the sand blaster and grinding all that sh*t off your frame and body. Just take your time and get as much of it off as you can. Don't rush and you'll more then likely be happy with the finished product.

Thanks zimsjeep. I jumped on the roll bar and hood latch to see if this is the paint scheme I really want. I figure see it on alittle stuff and it should give me an idea of what Ill be looking at when done. I agree about not jumping ahead of myself and all.
I have read boxmans thread and several others. The only reason I even thought to tackle this beast was their insperation from their builds. I have never done anything like this before, but this wont be my last time either. Im really liking this stuff.
Well today I removed all the hard fuel lines from the frame rail and the hard brake line to the rear, also the e brake cable. Started to drop the gas tank, (stock poly 20 gallon tank) and realized it was topped off. What fun! Also removed the fuel reg and the skid for it on the bake of the frame.
Found afew more small holes in the frame. Around the rear crossmember and both rear shock mounts. Not bad or anything, but more to fix.
Ill get some more pics tomorrow when I remove the gas tank and rest of the exhuast system. Still have on the cat to the header. Which also needs to be replaced.
I love Jeeps.

It's a good thing you do! No but really though, it'll all be worth it when you finish and you'll be so proud of it. Keep up the good work & keep the pictures coming. . . .

Well today I removed the gas tank and the gas tank skid. Fun times with a full tank.
Next Im going to yank off the track bars and sway bar. Then the rear driveshaft. (Have to change my tcase rear oil seal and bushing)
Then Ill start cleaning up the rear of the frame. May need a new rear crossmember. Not 100% sure but it looks about beat.Im sure with enough grinding Ill get it cleaned up, but not sure on how trustworthy itll be.
Also going to finish removing the rear ebrake cables. The passanger side cable got all chewed up so I guess Ill just replace everything from the cab back. More money to spend.
By the time this rig is done I think itll be pretty much better than from the factory. Im going through everything and replacing whats in need and changing simple stuff that THEY couldnt do from the gate.
Ill go outside and get some more pics to post, I know you guys are like crack addicts for pics.
(so am I.)

Very small (dime size) rust hole in pass side frame rail. Easy fix.
My very first fix on my Yj, when I was leaking gas everywhere...
Gas tank skid straps...
Rear driveshaft...
This is my leaky tcase rear oil seal...
Front driveshaft,greaseable ...
I have 2 rust holes in the front of the frame, on the pass side by the shackle location...
Since the front of the frame is already rusted, Ill cut this whole section off and replace it with nice fresh metal...

After this, I'm so glad the old body of mine is scrap.
Btw how's your HF sandblaster working out? I thought about one, but they all seemed to have huge air consumption that my lil pancake wouldn't keep up with.
