Yesterday I made it up to the Grand Opening of our new Cabelas about 90 miles from home. Picked up a trail box for tools and equipment. I had not measured the inside of my jeep and didn't measure the box, check out how it fit. Perfect width.. I don't think I will be able to install my back seat with it in though. Maybe, i will give it a shot later on and see how it all fits. It would be nice if it did.

Water proof and lockable.. I used a piece of all thread and stuck it in the seat latch brackets to hold the box to the rear. It could only move about a 1/2inch without it but I don't like rattles.

Today I upgraded all 4 shocks to bilsteins 5100 and 5125's. I also installed a new Tom Woods double cardan driveshaft. My old one was a bit to long with the new 8.8. I am keeping my old one for spare, it will work in a pinch.

I have to give Mr. Tom Woods an honorable mention. Top notch service as usual and good advice helping solve my driveline issues. Super customer service and quick shipment of DS.

I think I am going to like them really well. I still have a warped tire that doesn't want to balance right but aside from that, the jeep has never driven or ridden better than today. I think I am ready for another road trip. Haha

Pics of new Tom Woods DS:

Bilsteins Shocks:

I don't really like the way the boot crumples up on the rear shocks, but I suppose that is how they are suppose to be.

Also replaced the old rusted bumpstops and was able to remove the ones from the D30 axle that fit under the u-bolts.

Thanks for the comment, - As for the front pinion angle, Yeah I have noticed that, I don't seem to be having any issues with it. I have thought about adding a couple small degree shims to the front to straighten that out a little. If I do, I believe it would help my light steering. It drives great but the steering wheel has no weight to it and I think it is because of my castor or camber (I get them mixed up) which ever one it effects when rotating the differential back to normal. haha

They are the bushwhacker flares, a little cheesy on the install process and probably not the most sturdy out there but I did not have to do any cutting.

Deer Season 2012

Well this is the first year that I have used the Heep to drag the 4-wheeler trailer. I have to travel about 100 miles to my Dad's house where I grew up to hunt. With a lot of bags and hunting supplies in the back of the heep and the 4-wheeler trailer I was a little hesitant to try it. But I went down on Friday and came home today and a lot of travel to hunting areas in between and it did great with the load as long as I kept the 4-wheeler back tires over the axle of the trailer. My front tie-down strap broke on the 4-wheeler and it shifted to the rear of the trailer on me, things got a little interesting to say the least then. It started fish tailing all over the road before I finally found a place to pull over and get it shifted back and tied down.

No it was not a plan to paint the heep to match the 4-wheeler, that was pure coincidence, but i think it turned out like I planned it.. Identically the same colors on both..

Before I left!!

While I was there, this is where I park to go hunting.

When I got home! A little mud on both of them..

No deer killed on this trip, but here is one I got on 15 Sep with my Bow.

Happy Hunting Everyone....
