my 95 yj is neutral when in fifth gear

Today while driving on the freeway, my jeep all of a sudden heavily lurched while in fifth gear. When I released the clutch its almost as if the gear is gone because the engine just revs, no acceleration. What happened and how do I fix it?
Its a manual 6cyl 95 yj
Any help would be appreciated

There is no situation that cannot be improved with a small but well-placed explosive.

They would indeed have the same fix, if that's the issue.

I have never seen it happen to an AX-15, but it is certainly possible.
