So you wired it to the positive post on the coil?

Never heard of anyone having an issue with just running to switched 12V, I burned up one internal regulator in the 6 years I have had the swap, and it was so soon after the Taurus fan (last year) I attributed it to that. Wondering if I should move my wire now....

That wire is switched 12V? I don't see how it is any different I guess.

Less current gets to the alternator. Painless includes a resistor with their GM alternator plugs for the same reason.

went and picked up a 231C transfer case yesterday..... tore it apart, and mated the front case half to the rear case half/SYE of my 231J case.....
swapped a few of the guts too..... the "c" case has 6 planetary gears on the 4-lo gear....("j" only has 3) so i used that, also the "c" case has a wider chain, used that.....was able to use the SYE from my "j" case. everything went together perfect.
also fixed the stock jeep transfer case shifter so it will bolt up with the different t-case bolt pattern.
and rigged up a trans mount.
got it all bolted in, and the rear driveshaft is still the perfect length. no DS work needed for this swap!

more work and pictures to come today!

got a LOT of small things done..... jeez the small things take twice as long as the big stuff! installed the lokar kickdown cable, made a custom accelerator cable mount, modified my stock skid, rigged the wires for the torque converter lockup, installed the trans filter and pan..... not much to take pictures of, but here's a few anyways.

"new" t-case..... not clocked that bad, camera was tilted. it does angle down more than the jeep case tho.

lockup wiring..... a trans guy told me if i wanted to bypass getting an ecu for the trans, loop the black and white wires back together, then run the red to a source with a fuse.....this way it will always lock-up in overdrive..... we'll see how that works!

lokar kickdown cable:

trans pan Whoop dee doo.....

my favorite..... the incognito chevy symbol.....

next weekend is the B&M shifter, t-case shifter, starter and wiring, and the exhaust..... gonna be busy!
