Hey guys it's been awhile since I 'decided' to swap in a 302. But now after emptying the wallet many time I have most of the parts and am getting very close!
Here's the original thread http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/f...-swap-1386881/ (I've learn alot about the swap since then Lol)

Here's the deal:
95 4cyl YJ
91 tbird 302 (originally thought it was from an f150)
96 Cherokee ax-15
Original np231 (Swaped input gear)
Advanced adapters adapter and mounts
Novak 23 spline input gear
88 Mustang intake manifold

Below are some pics with captions to bring you up to date with where I'm at:

Opps! 4cyl blows two days after this

Finally tracked down an ax-15 $200

I found out the forklift driver at the powder coating factory where I work drag races mustangs so I bought a bunch of parts from him here is the mustang intake and the oil pan after sand blasting next is primer and gloss black powder coating

Jeep Christmas
Haven't got these on yet this one one of the holes are drilled to far out the other side of the block and messed up threads

Made a template to reclock my tcase

Hope you enjoy all the pics and if you have pics of your own 302 swap I'd love to see them. I'd also like to say thanks to the Jeep forum community I could have never got this far if it wasn't for all the great information found here. =)

Thanks! Ive already had two dreams about it being finished haha. I can't wait all I need to get it mounted in the Jeep is the right clutch kit (I ordered one for an f150 which is 10 spline but the diameter is 1 1/16 I need 1 1/8 which is the same as Chevy I've learnt ) and i need reclock the tcase and get the damn headers on.

I did such a thing in 1993 with my CJ5. I just had to replace my timing set.
Two carb rebuilds, and routine maintenance.

Subscribed as I now have a 91 YJ.

Damn that's clean!

Yesterday I drilled some holes.... it was not fun but I got it to work

So here's a question how bad of an idea would it be to only bolt 5 of the 6 bolts to the tranny (broke one off in the tcase)

It MIGHT be okay, but that should be easy enough to drill out and retap I would think.

Well I might attempt to get it out. I just really hate bolts breaking and I lose my **** really fast Lol

Also it looks like my 2.5l YJ tranny mount won't work. Can someone confirm that this is what I should be ordering:

Why didn't use the truck intake or an explorer GT40P intake?

Installed one header:

in case your wondering no it was not fun to install had to drill two of the holes a bit bigger so it would line up with the block.

Now for the other side... as you can see this doesn't look good:

What brand of header are those? I tried some shorty headers but I had trouble gettin them to clear the bellcrank for the clutch.
