shane, i have an 87 w/a 258 . i was going through mufflers and or tail pipes every 2 to 3 years . i recently installed a random tech cat and a borla cat back , and man , what a difference in throttle response . it also sounds nice . so if you have the cash it is worth it . by the way my YJ has over 140K miles on it . i hope to get a borla header for it in the future .
good luck
