The stock tank is about 15 gallons. I'm getting around 20 MPG's with the 4-cylinder and 5-speed, stock gears on 31" tires. Keeping it tuned up and no vacuum leaks makes a world of difference.

110 miles on 1/2 a tank isn't too bad, but not the greatest either. I usually try for 150 miles on 1/2 a tank.

Hrmmm... not bad with your setup. You *might* be able to squeeze 1 or 2 more MPG's out of it, or maybe not. Basically getting 15 MPG's with the 4.0 is average. Those 3.07 gears must be PITA tho with the 5-spd and 33's.

Usually you will find most are averaging 15-16mpg with the 4.0 and 17-18mpg with the 2.5.

I was averaging 18mpg with my 2.5 on 29" tires, stock gears.

All about that unibody life.

Well I never calculated my Mpgs but my yj has a 4.0 3sp auto crappy 3.07 gears riding on 33s. The tank is 15gals. I took it on a hilly 135mile road trip to mississippi state university one weekend and made the trip with about 1/2 a tank of fuel to spare. I maintained 65-70mph throughout the drive. I was very surprised. It did better on gas than I thought.

Driving a 2500HD I've learned to drive with a light foot, the increase in MPG can be significant. Since getting my 92 4.0 ready to pass smog I've changed anything that would help. I'm getting 18 around town with 32/11.5 tires, 5 speed, 3.73 gears.

FYI my old 1979 K20 (old-school 3/4 ton 2500) got 8 MPG regardless of what you did. I put in a 396. 4.10 gears, 14-bolt detroit and a 4-speed.

Going downhill with a tail wind, it still got 8. Uphill, it got 8. In 2 wheel drive it got 8. In the snow it got 8.

It got 8.

The new trucks are nice.

Yes the new 6speed helps a lot. I can get 12-13 around town, maybe 15 on the Hwy. When I hook it up to the toyhauler it's 8-9 MPG doesn't matter uphill or down, it is what it is.

You should check out the 15 to 20 gallon simple fix for the 4cyl YJ's. Very easy to do and less trips to the gas station.

Are you adjusting your mpg since your speedometer is not correct after adding the larger tires?
When I had my 4 cyl YJ I got 18-19 mpg.
