I actually have a 91 YJ with a dealer MOUNTAINEER decal package. I had her redone in 2000. I lived in Oklahoma at the time and found a car stripping shop that redid them. I took the jeep in there first and they traced them and made them on a computer. From there, I brought the jeep back after paint and they applied them. Still look good. I would bet if you look in the Yellow pages you could find a place like that, or even a graphic arts place to them.

Very interesting. Do you have any specs on what comes with the package?? Looking to add this info elsewhere. Thanx

I've seen this subject come up a couple of times over the years, even seen some pictures......IIRC the "Mountaineer" was a package marketed by either a single dealer or a group of dealers out West, maybe Colorado? The package consisted of graphics, larger tires (can't remember size), and custom wheels. If you're any good at the search feature you may be able to locate those old threads.

My Mountaineer was purchased new (by me) in 91 at Colorado Springs Jeep/Eagle. I thought that it was a dealer package. I saw one other like it when I lived in Colorado Until late '92. It is steel blue (factory flat paint) with mountain graphics on the side with sunsets and nice stripping. It says mountaineer on the sides of the hood. It came with 4.0L, PS, PB, Tilt, AM/FM, soft top. Standard tires (215/75R15) mounted on Jeep alloy wheels. I'm outta town now, but will see if I can post a picture when I get home in a couple of days.

Sorry for the delay. I couldn't figure out how to insert the pictures here, but I uploaded them to the gallery.
I hope you can see them. Go to the gallery, then wrangler YJ. I posted them as Mountaineer 1 and 2.

I would think it's probably a local appearance package thing. I know when the Durango RT's first came out there was a "California Kustoms" package around here, that was just stripping and what not (and upgraded seats).
