Mount TJ Mirrors on YJ Full Doors?

I really like the larger TJ mirrors that I have on my YJ half doors.

Unfortunately, they don't fit on my full doors that look like this:

The hinges are different from the full to the half door, and it's possible that the vent window would block the mirrors if I mounted them on the full door hinges (although this seems to work on TJs but they have a smaller vent window, I think).

If they would be visible, I was thinking of just tapping and drilling the full door hinges to accept the TJ mirrors. I'd also have to drill some holes in the door sheetmetal for screw length clearance. And fill up the holes for the existing mirror in some way.

I'm in the process of rebuilding my full doors with new weatherstripping, etc, so now is the time to make any changes.

Any suggestions?

I use my stock half door mirrors on my full doors. Aftermarket hinges have the holes for large mirrors or drill and tap your stock hinges.

Thanks for the tip - I didn't even think to check the aftermarket hinges. I'll just drill & tap - easy mod.

What did you do about the stock mirror holes? I'll probably just put a screw/nut in the hole with a little RTV to seal it up.

You mean like this?

The OP put pop rivets in the existing mirror holes.

The doors use to be black. I had the painter fill them.
