motor swap?

have 91 yj 4.0 that is on it's last leg. I want to swap in another motor but having tough time locally tracking one down. however I found a 98 4.0. will this work with my harness and computer? my 91 is injection

It will work, just have to swap the sensors and accessories from your block to the new one.

There are certain differences in the evolution of 4.0 block. Your best bet is to find one with the same casting number. A 1998 / 4.0 xj block should have identical bolt patterns.
