the idea behind the boomerang shackle is that the bend allows it to function properly (swing towards the rear) and minimize hitting the rear crossmember. (its on backwards) i had to use these and notch it as well. if it is stopped before the spring flattens out you can bend a spring pack. this will happen anyways but you want it to happen over time and not the first outing.

Yes they're backwards. They should be like this....

yep they are backwards...

been that way for a while lol

i plan on flipping them the right way.

its not really going to get driven for a while... ive got some small things that need buttoned up before its road ready.

and the lift is a soa, 1.5" rubicon express leaf springs, and a 1" body lift

You may want to think about a anti wrap bar.
Those springs may help to keep it down for a while but as soon as they get broke in guarenteed axle wrap.

yeah big blue has axle wrap. i find that not punching the gas helps lol. but yes anti-wrap bar is in the works.

keep in mind this thing has been "finished" as in out of the garage for the first time ever - for about a month. it has less than 20 miles on it.

talked to my buddy, who is the one who origionally put these rubicon express leaf springs on.

he explained to me that yes, they are on backwards, but the way they are mounted will work better due to the way they hang...

he says im more than welcome to use his air tools and he will even help me take them off and turn them around, but that it would be better to leave em.

ive voted on leaving them. the way he described it, ill get more droop if you will. or hang.. however you want to put it.

frame is already notched out... so im good.

The problem with your buddies thinking is the shackle will over
rotate forward and lock up against the frame.
The 3rd (center) bolt is there to help prevent this.
