missing cylinder? anyone

ok, i went to the local riding spot and while i was driving through a field, i gave it some gas and it backfired (i think), then the check engine light came on, and it was idling, running really rough. so i looked under the hood, and there was oil dripping from the PCV valve, with oil in my air filter, oil was around the valvecover, i checked, and still had plenty of oil. so i left, and drove it home, it ran rough all the way here and when driving everything was shaking and rattling. it isnt smoking or anything. i pulled the spark plugs, none of them are fouled, i just put a new distributor cap/button, wires on. i am pretty sure there is a cylinder missing. i wonder if it could be an o2 sensor or something?

so, i think all of that has something to do with it. is there any way to check for error codes on a 93 yj, without a computor diagnostic tool thingy.

so... have any of you guys experienced this? or what do you think?

thanks, i tried to use the codes, but i kept loosing track of the breaks. i kept looking around, and found that it's the O2 sensor, i crawled under there, and realized that i ripped the wires out. i went back to the wheelin' spot and found 3 feet of wires in the weeds, so i taped the rest back up, but i still need a new O2 sensor since the wires are ripped about 1/2 of a centimeter away, and they are to short to tape back up.

thanks for the help! at least i'll know what do next time that stupid light comes back on.
