I just look over my shoulder before changing lanes. Colorado has a "one rearward facing mirror law".

42-4-226. Mirrors - exterior placements.
Statute text
(1) Every motor vehicle shall be equipped with a mirror or mirrors so located and so constructed as to reflect to the driver a free and unobstructed view of the highway for a distance of at least two hundred feet to the rear of such vehicle.

In short, my rearview mirror is all I need.

I'm not sure about the laws in Michigan but when i went doorless i went right past a cop and he didn't even give me a second look, kinda suprising considering there was a wind chill of like -5 degrees. People were taking pictures of me and my buddy with their phones.

the only mirror my jeep has ever had is the rear view mirror. bought half doors and i thought the useless mirrors looked ugly so i took them off and sold them on eBay for almost $75
