Michael's SOA finished! LOTS of PICS!!

Well i finally got around to lifting my jeep like i have always wanted. Before i get reemed in an orafice i don't already have, let me say this: I have a dana 44 and dana 60 that i will be building up over the next year or so that will go under the jeep. I will equip them with 4.88 - 5.?? gears, high steer, and disc brakes all around and as most of you, i am not made of money so this will take some time, and i would like to do it right the first time (but not all at once so i can make adjustments as needed). With that said, i will run this set-up for a little while since the jeep is my daily driver, until i am satisfied and done with my axles. Then depending on how i feel about this lift, i may bring it down a few inches and stretch it in the process or who knows! That's what this is all about. I am your average working man (8-5) so i did this project on the weekends and at night in 16 days. All my components and pricing is in the SOA sticky thread that martin created. This is mostly for entertainment puposes and some pics to look at but i do have a couple concerns (which i'll get to later). I realize everyone has different goals and many of you would do this and that (or all of it) differently, so... cool, this is how I did it. My dad is a welder by trade for the last 30 years so of course i wanted him to do my welding (and he did). Sorry for all of the poser shots
Lift is 3.5" Superlft spings SOA, longer shackles, and 2" body lift. ~12.5" total
Tires are 35x15 TSLs on 15x12 rims

more rake!

now to the good part, this pitman arm was the devil! Tried everything, including my own fabricated pitman arm puller cutting, air hammering, giant claw puller, BFH, more BFH etc...

3000 pund bottle jack with cheater bar was no match for the injured pitman arm

finally...

those are BDS 13.5" travel hydro shocks in the rear...
What do you guys think about that DS angle? I think i need new u-joints in the double cardan side so those will be changed asap. it squeaks
Also my speedometer doesn't work now that i installed the SYE.. I put the new gear plastic thing on the new shaft and it's plugged in but no speedo? Any ideas?

IMHO, waaaayyyyy too tall. What size tires are you hoping to run? I can fit 37's with flat springs and TJ flares.

You're going to want to beef up the t-case side of the traction bar, that wimpy stock skid will bend on you pretty quick.

What did you use for shock mounts on your D30?

Yes i know, i have lots of tweaking still to do. I am running 35x15 but could fit easily fit 44's (not with these puny things they call axles though, i'll be lucky to not explode it with the 35's). However this thing is my daily driver right now, so it doesn't see much else yet. I am looking to get another DD but my $$$ says otherwise right now. I know it's too tall, but this is only it's first stages of transformation. I will build a traction bar skid very soon, this was just trial and lots of error. The shock tabs were BTF or some other fab company i'm not quite sure. The guy i got my tires from gave them to me, he had a CJ-5 that he wasn't going to use them on.

let me say this: while it is really tall, it drives and steers BETTER than before. I was surprised and very impressed with the jb4x4 bracket, springs, and shocks. It drives and handles exceptionally well! And i know i realize i will have to adjust my driving accordingly but i rarely go faster than 60. 95% of my driving is 45mph and under around town...

Nah the crossmember wont bend. It usually just breaks that big chunk of the crossmember out.
