doug_1994, please don't be offended as I contradict you. I have the exact same traction bar, the MORE unit, and am also spring over. IDK how you have managed not to break your skid plate yet but I have broken mine... twice. Just the other night I broke the other end off of the frickin axle. But the good news is that my skid held up with my new reinforcements

I went to home depot and bought some thick stock and welded over top. I drilled a hold for the bolt to go through, bolted it up and then just beat it in line with the skid plate. Held up longer than the other end. lol, but not really funny.

I'm not sure why mine has lasted. Luck prolly.

I don't baby my jeep at all, but it is pretty solid.

Are you ripping the welds, or the crossmember itself?

What kind of welder did you burn it in with?

Ripping the actual skid plate... Until I laid some 3/8" steel stock over top of it.

Ripped the axle end off the other night and I am practicing my welding to get that on there better than Outlaw motorsports in Culpeper, VA that will never steal my money again.

I went with a 12" rim when i first bought wheels for it after i bought my jeep in 2000. i believe they have 3.75" of backspacing. I ran 2 sets of 31x13.50 TSL SX (excellent tire btw) before i put the BL on and then 33x12.50 thornbirds (horrible tire that i got for extremely cheap) and now the 35x15. These ride excellent i'm really impressed. and I haven't even put the balancing beads in yet. I love the 12 inch rim with these tires i think they are a perfect fit, but it comes down to personnal preference in the end...

I may try this method as well, how did you get the steel to overlay perfectly?

Prep is #1.

I take my time with prep, and it hasn't let me down yet.

i originally wanted a 10" rim...but ive been thinking about a 12". 12" limits your options for wheels though, and the price jumps SO high. 10" black steel rims are less then HALF the price of 12" black steel rims.
