yes it was a long year but it my honor to serve this great country! I'm excited for the parts to get here so can get some real work done

but we did get a few little odds and ends done today

Got the rear bumper re-installed after getting the ears of the brackets welded back on

My wife painted back in the "Jeep" logos

and I got an air horn installed $17 from harbor freight and worth ever penny that bad boy is LOUD!!!!

For those of you that live near harbor freight stores you cam go to there website and print off a 20 % off coupon for 1 item we've used a bunch of these makes for a good deal !

I also got the right ( I hope ) flange ordered for the 8.8 Anyone know what size U bolts I will need for the swap ? The axle is already set up with perches for SOA so just need those ! thanks !!

We got a little more done to the Jeep today first off we decided to name her Wednesday after the Addams family small black and tough so wife painted this on her !

removed the third brake light so I can get the spare I'm picking up on there, it's not ideal but will work for the trail until I can swap out bumpers and get a carrier built

I also built a set of steps, I didn't want to pay the big money for rock sliders yet and after I get the extra 2 1/2 " lift on it will be a bit hard to jump in and out of fashioned these off the RG 31's I drove in afghanistan

started with some 1" x 1" angle that I cut into 10 " lengths

drilled two holes in 1 piece

and three into the next

ran some 5/16 " wire rope through the 2 pieces

Then ran a feral over both pieces

bolted to a pre-existing hole under the body

with my little helper

my hope is it will be strong enough to hold ( we tried it a few times and seems like it will be ok ) and because of the wire rope will slide over and around stuff without getting hung up.

also got my adapter for my 8.8 today from northern drivetrain

nice idea for temp steps! I love to see that your wife is involved with the jeep too, makes me feel a little less odd.

You can use the switch off a TJ transfer case, 1996 and up. Its very common swap when people put solid axles.
