May be a tough size question

Does anyone know what size screws I need for the vent on the hood? I just bought a jeep and it doesn't have any screws to use as a reference.

Are you talking about a YJ?? Your profile says you have a JK.....

If you are talking about a YJ, they are basically a phillips head coarse thread sheet metal screw if I remember correctly. Not sure of an exact size off hand though...

The Present:
'93 YJ
'05 TJ Rubicon (Electric Lime Green)
'04 WJ
'46 CJ2A
The Past:
'83 CJ7, '92 YJ, '00 XJ, '99 TJ, '05 TJ Rubicon (Impact Orange)

Yeah, sorry about that, but it is a YJ. I just bought it over the weekend and haven't had a chance to update my profile yet. I did find a box of assorted screws in the trunk box, if someone pull take a picture of one of theirs so I know which one it may be. There are probably 6 or 7 in the box I found that could possibly fit. Thanks.

If u don't have a picture by the time I get home I'll take one with a measuring tape for size reference.

I had my vent off recently and they were about #8 machine screws x 5/8 long - I can also provide a pic later. They need to be coated so it won't rust.

If you're going to buy 50 cents worth of screws for something like that, just make it a dollar and get stainless steel screws. a rusty screw going through the sheet metal is just BEGGING to rot a hole in your jeep.
