mate a T5 to a np231

I am want to upgrade my 4.2 to the 4.0 heads. With this power gain, I want a new tranny and I have heard mostly good things about the t5. 4wd Hardware has a kit to bolt it on to my 88 YJ. Would this also bolt right on to my existing 231? I have a slipyoke eliminator on it, so I don't want to get rid of it. Would i have to alter the driveshaft or not? Thanks for any input

I don't know where you ever heard good things about a T5. In CJ7 circles, which has the T5 stock, it's considered junk. Even the World Class T5 is not considered a "great" tranny. Looks to me like Advanced Adapters is recommending the NV3550 as a good swap for the Peugeot. I think even the AX15 would be a better choice than the T5. Here's AA's writeup if you can handle pdf files. http://www.advanceadapters.com/acrobat/nvt5.pdf

why does your sig say 2.5L if you're talking about 4.2L and 4.0L head?
