My brother installed a 4'' Rough Country lift and a 2" PA body lift. with some 33" tires
Jeep runs great just that the gearing kinda sucks 3.07's
Mods to date are: 4" Rough Country Lift, 2" PA Body Lift, K&N Intake, Sony Cd Player, Sony Amp, 10" Kicker sub, Leather Shift boot, roof rack, TJ Flares, WS lights, Rock sliders.
My Future plans: Rear 8.8 (4.10) already purchased just haven' installed it, regear the D30 to 4.10, SYE, 1.5 Boomerang shackles, Aussie D30 locker, Detroit locker for the 8.8, tube fenders, roll cage, on board air system, dual battery setup, Solid Diff covers (already purchased the rear). 35'' tires, winch, tire carrier.

I would point the pinion at the tc if you have SYE then drop it down two degree's to account for slight axle wrap( some point it straight at the tc). It looks like the spring perches you got are the longer ones for SOA, that's no big deal cause they can be cut down shorter. I just cut off the 8.8 perches and reused them.

X2 just point the rear diff straight at the yoke on the rear of the transfer case.
I would do a Spring Over Axle (SOA) now, you will be half way there!
SOA will fit 35"s better and articulate off road better too. Mine worked great off road and even drove well on road.

Currently I don't have an SYE but I am waiting for it in the mail. So just point straight to the tc sounds easy enough The website didn't specify if it was for SOA or SUA i need to contact them see if I can switch them around. Will these work for me or do they need to be cut down and by how much?

I would really want to do SOA but it would be way to much money. Im getting the D30 re-geared to match the 8.8 and having a spartan locker installed with in the next 2 weeks. plus I have a brand new 4 lift waiting to be installed. So if it wasn't for the low cash and the lift that i have I would go SOA

I would wait to do the the Pinion until you get the SYE installed, its easier that way to get it perfect. no need to return the spring perches you got if you have an angle grinder and cut-off disc. Off the top of my head I cant say what length to cut them. If you could find a Dana 30 front out of a 4cyl wrangler it will bolt right in and already have 4.10 gears, but if you live like where I live they are as rare as hens teeth or somebody thinks they are worth $$$$$$$$$$$$. besides 4 inch lift springs and SOA would be Tall

Would it be bad if I run them like that without cutting them. But if its bad for my springs then Ill just cut them. Ive looked for D30 with the 4.10 but they want $300 for them and they are the older model ones and mine has the beefier joints. For a spartan locker and 4.10 gears I got quoted $700 so that's really not that bad. Yeah I don't want to be too tall that's why im staying SUA.

I understand, I just removed a SOA kit to installed C/O's on my YJ and was going to post SOA kit on CL for sale.

I would cut the spring plates they wont sit right with SUA. I just happened to pick up the June Jp mag. It had an article on driveshaft angle on pg 71 check it out If you can its a good read on setting up CV axle angle for leaf sprung vehicles. They say what I said earlier about pointing it at the SYE tc yoke then dropping it 2 degrees.

I called Ruffstuff and talked to a tech he told me they made them longer to try to prevent the springs from warping. But once i have them welded on I will cut them down to match the same size as the ones on the D35. Ill see if I can get my hands on that page. Yeah that's what ill be doing 2 degrees below the tc. thanks for your help.
I will start taking apart the 8.8 today getting it ready for installation next weekend.

Any tips on how to remove the rear drive shaft seems to be stuck on the tc side.
