After being "out of the game" for 2 years due to having to sell a frame decrepit '95 YJ, and spending most of those 2 years gently searching for a replacement, I found this rig less than 2 hours from my house for a more than respectable price.
On Mother's Day 2012, my wife (who hates Jeeps) agreed to go take a look. After almost an hour of crawling around this rig, verifying everything was up to snuff, we pulled the trigger. On Mother's Day. :D
Since bringing her home, I have spent most weekends under, over and around this rust free beauty. Replacing general maintenance items, upgrading the suspension, installing body protection and making her "mine".
As clean and nice as she is to drive down the road, her off road capabilities are no slouch either. The body is in near showroom condition and the OME suspension enjoys flexing its muscle whenever I'm ready.

- I originally bought the jeep when I came home and changed schools. I'm an engineering major and between this project car and a few other things I really found a passion for working with my hands and this solidified a desire to build for a living. We promptly bought my dad a jeep to wheel with me and work on together. It's been a life saver and a work in progress that has changed directions more times then I care to admit.

Bought this almost stock after selling my XJ. Knew it wouldn't stay that way long. Started with a shackle lift and then found the forum and started my build thread, A Teenager With a Dream. Got rid of the shackle lift and kept up the build on a high school/college budget up to now. Learning the whole way. Future plans consist of 8.8 swap and front and rear lockers and winch.
1995 Rio Grande
I got my YJ in a trade for my 1994 GMC K1500 about 3 years ago. I didn’t want to give up my 4wd but needed something more fuel efficient… what better than a 4banger jeep!! I drove it bone stock for about 7 months while I paid off some debt, and then the jeep bug hit. It started with some 130watt spot lights, then some 30in mud tires. That was fun for about a year, but then I needed more… Here’s the current specs!
