I've got both, Chilton's and Haynes. Will probably get a Factory Service Manual because I've found these two lacking. May not be any better, but at close to 1,000 pages, has to have more.

Me too. But I tend to use the Haynes more than the Chiltons.

Chilton - a waste of paper, IMHO. Haynes not much better.

Too little coverage of too large a model base... Yet I still buy the **** things for want of a more readily available, and accurate, reference source.

I need a REAL service manual! Any links to the FSM?

90 YJ - 4.2L, 5-Speed, Weber, Nutter Bypass by PO, 31's, otherwise stock.

Haynes...I wouldn't waste a dime on a Chilton's, but I would get an FSM... Normally, the Haynes answers my questions, I can usually puzzle out what it doesn't tell me.

Haynes and Chilton. Don't really care for either one, but until I got my hands on a Factory Shop Manual, they were all I could get. Now I use the shop manual. It's amazing how detailed it gets. Even a neophyte can use one. I thought these things were supposed to be for certified mechanics. Their step-step instructions are incredible. Don't waste you $$ on anything else.
